Day 1

Upon arrival in Lima, Peru’s vibrant capital city, you’ll be welcomed by its dynamic blend of history, culture, and modernity. After clearing customs and picking up your luggage, you’ll head to your accommodation for a restful overnight stay.

Day 2

Uncover the history and elegance of Peru’s capital on a guided exploration through Lima’s cultural heart. Visit the Grand Plaza Mayor, the ornate Cathedral, and the San Francisco Monastery with its mysterious catacombs. Stroll through the colonial streets of the historic center before heading to the charming coastal district of Miraflores for sweeping views of the Pacific.

Alternatively, experience why Lima is hailed as the culinary capital of South America. Explore a vibrant local market, meet expert chefs, and discover the stories behind iconic Peruvian dishes. Savor freshly prepared ceviche, enjoy a pisco sour demonstration, and taste your way through a multi-course journey that celebrates Peru’s diverse flavors and ingredients.

Day 3

After your morning flight to Cusco, you’ll be welcomed by dramatic Andean scenery before continuing directly to the Sacred Valley. At a lower elevation, the valley provides a more comfortable setting for acclimatization. Enjoy a scenic drive through rolling valleys, rivers, and traditional villages before arriving at your hotel. The afternoon is free to rest, relax, and adjust to the altitude. Stay hydrated, take it easy, and enjoy the tranquil surroundings—this gentle start sets the tone for a rewarding journey in the days ahead.

Day 4

A tour of the Sacred Valley offers a rich tapestry of Incan heritage and natural beauty. Starting with the impressive ruins and vibrant market of Pisac, you’ll then explore the well-preserved fortress of Ollantaytambo, an essential site of Incan history. The journey continues to the unique agricultural terraces of Moray and the ancient Maras Salt Mines, where traditional salt harvesting techniques are still practiced. You may also visit Chinchero, a traditional village renowned for its weaving and colonial church. Day 5

A Machu Picchu tour from your Sacred Valley hotel starts with an early drive to Ollantaytambo, where you’ll board a train for a scenic journey to Aguas Calientes. From there, a shuttle bus will take you up to Machu Picchu, where a guided tour will reveal the wonders of this ancient Incan citadel, including its temples, terraces, and the Intihuatana stone. After exploring, you’ll have free time to take in additional viewpoints or hike to nearby attractions. The day concludes with a return trip to Aguas Calientes for lunch, followed by the train ride to Cusco and a transfer to your Cusco hotel, leaving you with unforgettable memories of one of the world’s most extraordinary sites.

Day 6

A free day in Cusco allows you to immerse yourself in the city’s vibrant culture and history at your own pace. Wander through the nearby streets to discover charming local shops, cafes, and markets. For a taste of local cuisine, enjoy a meal at a traditional Peruvian restaurant. Visit the San Pedro Market to experience the bustling atmosphere and sample local delicacies, or take a leisurely stroll through the bohemian neighborhood of San Blas, known for its artisan workshops and panoramic views of the city. End your day with a relaxing evening at one of Cusco’s cozy cafes or restaurants, soaking in the city’s rich ambiance.

Day 7

A Cusco city tour offers a rich introduction to the city’s heritage, blending Incan and colonial influences. Highlights include Sacsayhuamán, the impressive hilltop fortress with panoramic views; Qorikancha, the former Temple of the Sun integrated into the Convent of Santo Domingo; the Plaza de Armas with the Cusco Cathedral and La Compañía de Jesús; and the colorful San Pedro Market. Visits may also include Qenqo, known for its carved rock formations, Puka Pukara, a former military checkpoint, and Tambomachay, famous for its ceremonial water channels. Together, these sites reveal Cusco’s unique fusion of ancient and colonial history.

Day 8

Upon arriving on a noon flight, you’ll be warmly welcomed at Iquitos International Airport by the crew. From there, you’ll enjoy a private transfer to downtown Iquitos for a city tour and welcome lunch. Next, you’ll travel to Nauta Port to board the cruise. Settle into your spacious suite and prepare to embark on an extraordinary adventure. After an introduction from your naturalist guides and a safety briefing, gather at the restaurant to savor your first of many exquisite Amazonian cuisine experiences.

Day 9

Begin your day with a sunrise birdwatching session along the Amazon River. After breakfast, set out on a skiff excursion to explore the Tahuayo tributary, guided by expert naturalists who will share insights about the region. Try your hand at fishing for the notorious piranhas of the Amazon. As dusk approaches, embark on an evening wildlife search, concluding with a serene stargazing experience.

Day 10

Explore the stunning black waters of Clavero Lake and visit the local communities residing along its shores. Enjoy activities like kayaking, canoeing, or swimming before returning onboard for a lavish lunch. In the afternoon, take a short jungle walk through the San Jose de Paranapura forest to marvel at the famous giant water lilies. Before dinner, meet the remarkable crew who have been dedicated to ensuring your extraordinary experience. After dining, take a leisurely stroll through the floodplain forest of San Jose de Paranapura.

Day 11

In the morning, embark on a guided visit to the local market to marvel at the regional produce of the Peruvian Amazon and sample exotic snacks. For those interested, there will also be an opportunity to visit an experienced beekeeper in the San Francisco community. After returning to the ship for breakfast and packing up, visit the Manatee Rescue Center, a sanctuary dedicated to rehabilitating orphaned Amazonian manatees before their return to the wild. Finally, you’ll transfer to Iquitos airport for your flight to Lima, heading home or to your next destination.
