Days 1-3

Day 2

A tour of Soweto offers a powerful glimpse into South Africa’s history and culture. Explore the vibrant township, known for its role in the fight against apartheid, with visits to iconic landmarks like Nelson Mandela’s former home and the Hector Pieterson Memorial. Day 4

Wake up to the sounds of the wild and prepare for another unforgettable day in Greater Kruger National Park. Begin with an early morning game drive, the perfect time to catch predators in action or spot herds of elephants grazing peacefully. As the day unfolds, relax by the lodge or explore walking trails with expert guides who’ll introduce you to the park’s smaller, often overlooked creatures. Later, as the afternoon fades, embark on another thrilling safari, where the shifting light offers new wildlife encounters and a breathtaking African sunset to end the day.

This unforgettable helicopter experience sweeps you over lush valleys and striking natural scenery, revealing cascading waterfalls and dramatic cliffs from a spectacular aerial perspective. Enjoy a breathtaking view of Lisbon Falls, dropping 92 metres in four powerful streams, before continuing over other celebrated landmarks including Cascade, Berlin, Mac-Mac and Forest Falls—each offering exceptional photo opportunities. Flying along the escarpment, you’ll admire the impressive Panorama Gorge and the remarkable rock formations of the Blyde River Canyon, a vast natural wonder stretching for 30 kilometres and plunging up to 1,000 metres below. Day 7

After a quick orientation and settling into your luxurious accommodation, you’ll have time to unwind and take in the breathtaking surroundings of the expansive Kalahari landscape. After a final morning in Tswalu Kalahari Reserve, you’ll have a flight to Cape Town. Arrive in Cape Town and enjoy a free afternoon to explore at your own pace. Take in the city’s vibrant culture, relax at a local café, or stroll along the beautiful waterfront. Whether you choose to explore nearby landmarks, enjoy some leisure time, or simply soak in the stunning scenery, the afternoon is yours to discover Cape Town’s charm.

Day 11

Explore Cape Town on a city tour highlighting its cultural, historical, and natural gems. Take a cable car up Table Mountain for stunning panoramic views, stroll through the colorful Bo-Kaap neighborhood, and visit the lush Company’s Garden surrounded by landmarks like the South African Museum and Parliament. See the Castle of Good Hope, South Africa’s oldest colonial building, and drive along the scenic Atlantic Seaboard, enjoying ocean and mountain vistas. The tour may also include the lively V&A Waterfront, with its shops, restaurants, and entertainment.

Day 12

Discover the exquisite Cape Winelands on a day filled with wine, scenery, and culture. Begin your Cape Winelands tour in Stellenbosch, celebrated for its charming streets and historic architecture, followed by a wine tasting at one of its acclaimed estates. Days 14-17

Day 14

Depart Cape Town early and journey to the renowned Garden Route. Enter the Garden Route at Mossel Bay, historically significant as the landing site of the first European mariners to navigate the southern tip of Africa. Enjoy time on its stunning beaches or hike the Cape St. Blaize Trail, which offers breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean from the cliffs. Alternatively, continue directly to Wilderness to check into your seaside accommodation for the evening.

Day 15

Delve into the heart of the Garden Route with a visit to Knysna, a picturesque coastal gem renowned for its stunning natural beauty. This enchanting stretch of coastline features lush indigenous forests, the expansive and inviting Knysna Lagoon, and the majestic Outeniqua Mountains. Immerse yourself in the region’s serene landscapes and explore its diverse ecological wonders, from the tranquil estuary to the rich forested areas and dramatic mountain vistas.

Day 16

After breakfast, set off for Tsitsikamma National Park, where you’ll spend the day exploring its unique blend of indigenous forest and picturesque Indian Ocean coastline. The park offers a variety of activities for all interests, including hiking scenic trails, crossing a thrilling suspension bridge, and swimming in pristine waters. In the afternoon, return to Knysna, taking a scenic route through the charming town of Plettenberg Bay.

Day 17

On the final day of your tour, journey back to Cape Town via the picturesque Route 62. Traverse the scenic Outeniqua Mountain Pass and enter the Klein Karoo, where you’ll find Oudtshoorn, famously known as the ostrich capital of the world. Delight in the quaint charm of this small-town region before concluding your tour in Cape Town in the early evening.

Days 18-21

Day 18

Depart from Cape Town Station and embark on a journey through the picturesque winelands of the Western Cape, heading towards Worcester. Enjoy tea in the lounge and observation cars, followed by dinner in the dining cars. As the train ascends approximately 750 meters up the escarpment, you’ll experience a stunning climb. Around midnight, the train will enter the first of four tunnels along the pass, culminating in the impressive 13.5 km-long final tunnel.

Day 19

Enjoy breakfast in the dining cars until the train arrives at Matjiesfontein, where you’ll have the opportunity to explore this historic village. Highlights include the museum located on the platform and a collection of vintage cars and railway carriages adjacent to the Lord Milner Hotel. As the train continues its journey through the Karoo, a vast semi-desert region that was once a massive inland sea, you’ll witness the remnants of ancient volcanic activity that shaped this unique landscape. Lunch is served in the dining cars, followed by tea in the lounge and observation cars. Dinner will also be served in the dining cars.

Day 20

Breakfast is served in the dining cars until the train reaches Kimberley, where you’ll have the opportunity to tour the Diamond Mine Museum and explore the iconic Big Hole. As the capital of the Northern Cape, Kimberley is renowned for the diamond discoveries that led to its founding in 1871. Enjoy lunch in the dining cars as the train continues its journey northeast towards the expansive grassland plains of the Highveld. Tea will be served in the lounge and observation cars, followed by dinner in the dining cars.

Day 21

After a delightful breakfast in the dining cars, disembark at Kookrus Station. From here, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight home or onward to your next destination, concluding your memorable journey.
